A small group of private individuals have come together to make a practical
contribution – They call this enterprise Yebo Africa,
which in some African tongues means Yes Africa.
“Traditionally aid has been delivered to African countries by international charities with top heavy administrative structures. These charities work through diplomatic channels and spend a notoriously high proportion of the public’s money on administration and publicity costs. A lot of good work has been done but it has been achieved at a high cost and much aid has been pilfered by corrupt African administrations”
Yebo Africa is a privately sponsored effort to bring
practical, targeted and value-for-money assistance directly to the people
in Africa in areas where it is most needed.
Yebo Africa is a strictly not-for-profit organisation
and independent of any governmental agencies or NGO’s.
Yebo Africa is based on a ‘community to community’ ideology.
Yebo! Africa takes donations of money and materials
from communities of plenty to communities in need.
Yebo! Africa always seeks sponsorship to cover all administration
expenses and so ensures donations go directly to the people they are intended
for and are not squandered on operational costs.
All of Yebo Africa’s operations are organised in house:
we collect the donations, we pack them, ship them, transport them and
distribute them.
All of Yebo Africa’s team members are volunteers. |
